Further on to Phuket. 07:15 o'clock local time: Start on the RW 21 l. The approach controller clears a heading of 250° after airborne so that we avoid the night thunderstorms which have developed over the gulf of Thailand. Further we continue in south southwest direction on a calm flight. For the first time since the flight over the Alps, the visibility is neither deteriorated by dust, haze or smoke. Phuket and the islands of Phang Nga present themselves in the nicest colors. Matching to this pilot's dream the ground handling people roll out the red carpet at the international airport of Phuket.
The afternoon is dedicated to the beach with sea rushing and a beautiful sun set.
Thanks to a rented car we can explore the nicest beaches of Phuket on our own. A special highlight is the excursion to the Phang Nga national park. In the visitor's centre the tour guides are over selling their tour offerings. So we decide to go on to a small road were we finally find a suitable boat guide. The notification occurs in sign language. It was worth searching. We enjoy an unusual 3-hour boat tour past mangrove woods and weird rock formations - a unique piece of earth. (However, in spite of sun sails we also get our first sunburn).
