New Delhi

Today the fuel is delivered by a tractor with a trailer and the pilot must lend a helping hand. It is 03:30 o'clock in the morning. The gas station attendant is woken up by us rudely from his bed consisting of three chairs in his office. Our airborne is into the sunrise over the Arabian Sea. Past Iran and Pakistan we fly direct into India. The flight to the military airfield Agra (for which we have received a special approval by the Indian army) is rather “rough”. Dust and wind shear to 35 knots keep us going.
On arrival a mixed "reception committee" is already awaiting us: military reps, customs officers, gas station attendants, ground handling agents and civilians – we are unambiguously the attraction of the day.
Besides, luckily we have our own equipment on board (manual fuel pump and fuel filter), the tools provided here belong rather into a museum – at least they should be cleaned once. After two hours at 45°C the airplane is re-fuelled and we leave the airport that is protected extremely well.
From well-organized and clean Oman we get in a different world: colored Tuk Tuks (scooter with metal coach for any kind of transportation) try to stick like beetles in every free gap, in between motorcyclist, ox's carts, bicycles, pedestrians, cows, handcarts, dogs, camels, trucks and cars. At the roads a lot of small businesses: food and craft.
06:00 o'clock in the morning – we have learnt in the meantime that it is better to start early and avoid the heat and the other 5000 tourists that way. Here we are: right in front of the nicest building of the world, the Taj Mahal. A 300 year-old architectural master piece crafted of marble. There are impressive moments in life: this is one.
05:00 o'clock the next day we leave heading New Delhi which is "only" 200 kilometers away.
The one who hesitates has already lost! In spite of highway and toll collect system there is the full range of traffic participants including cows, pedestrians and opposite/crossing traffic on all roadways. Meantime we have some doubts on who is the wrong-way driver.
4.5 hours later we reach our destination. Our driver just means succinct: "What you need in India is: Good Breaks, good horn and good luck!"
