Friedrichshafen

Take-off in Edinburgh in typical Scottish weather: Drizzle, showers, wind and sun change quickly. From Amsterdam dreamlike summer weather accompanies us then on our last trip for a fantastic finish in Friedrichshafen. The Tower approves a low approach in order to welcome some guests waiting for us.
The following traffic pattern to RW 24 concludes our trip around our wonderful planet earth. We land after having flown 218-hour and approx. 60,000 km / 32,500 NM exactly at that place where we have begun our adventure 134 days ago. Thankful for the numerous impressions, meetings with very interesting people and countless pictures. We now have to think about all this!

Above all we are glad that technology has not let us down and that we are able to leave the cockpit healthy after this long time.
After some interviews and taking pictures we are heading back to the City Airport in Mannheim which is the home base of our aircraft. It feels good to be now, finally, again in the circle of our family and friends. The jet of the airport fire brigade fits exactly to the mood … now the Champaign corks have to fly.

We would like to thank hundreds of helping hands everywhere in the world without which such a project would have been completely impossible to undertake. How often the „extra mile” was necessary in order to master the next part of our trip.
We enjoyed having you as our guests. Numerous visitors on our web site have motivated us over and over again – even after long flights and strenuous trips – to note our impressions late in the evening.
