New York

With a flight time of 7 hours we expect our last “long distance flight” from West Palm Beach Co to Westchester/New York on our round the world trip. The remaining flights should be at 5 hours or less each, according to our plans. In Westchester we also will perform our last scheduled maintenance before the return flight to Europe. The 200 hrs check is rather extensive and requires several days of work at Panorama Flight Service – like the other service enterprises before, a Cessna authorized service company.

"Big Apple": Hectic, rush and noise, everybody seems to be in a great hurry. However, fast we only get into the next traffic jam. Also here it is main holiday season and one must accept long waiting periods everywhere, even in the museums. Six o'clock we get up in order to ferry to Statue of Liberty without being grilled for several hours in the sun while standing in a queue.

Ground Zero leaves us with an oppressive feeling, although we see a lot of work going on to build a new future.
The whole day we are busy moving all over Manhattan by coach, underground or by foot. We are so exhausted that we take a bicycle ricksha in the Central park for the first in our life. It becomes the best tour in New York. The young student brings us to the interesting places (thus also to the house of John Lennon and Yoko Ono). He knows many stories, although he has found his new home only four months ago in New York.
