West Palm Beach

Hurricane Bonnie should cross Florida during the coming week end. In the last minute we get a hangar parking at the FBO Airmotive on the West Palm Beach Co airport. This lets us sleep much more relaxed. However, later it should turn out that this "hurricane" probably was rather a wishful thinking of the local media. Apart from a few smaller downpours and a light breeze nothing is to be seen. To keep the drama up on Sunday the TV stations show some repetitions of real storms of the past years. A radio station calls it later: “The sea is flat like a pancake”.

"Send us more tourists, the last were delicious". This saying seems to be valid in the Everglades not for the alligators but for the mosquitoes. After severe "air attacks" we look like crumb cakes.

On our trip to Key West, the southernmost point of the continental USA, we have the feeling to drive through the blue-green gleaming sea.
