Who has ever taken Highway 1 from San Francisco to San Diego by car knows about the magnificent cliffs, the sandy beaches, the golden colored hills and of course the mega town of Los Angeles with its dream factory Hollywood. The perspective from the air is new for us and even more exciting – particularly as we have dreamlike flying conditions and we pass the scenery in just three hours.

Then San Diego: California like taken from a picture book. Blue skies, palms and miles long sandy beaches. This town is a paradise for vacationers from many countries of the world. Wilma's personal favorite: Coronado Island, a sea of flowers, nicely formed gardens and parks.
The Del Coronado Hotel, which is more than 100 years old, really has lots of charm. One could stay here easily for hours and watch the colored activity at the sea. But also the city centre with Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village needs to be discovered.
